WHAT TO DO
Fertilize citrus if not done in September.
Plant hardy fall/winter vegetables.
Set strawberry plants.
Prepare Christmas cactus for bloom.
Plant winter ryegrass.
Divide herbaceous perennials and bulbs.
Fertilize flowering annuals.
Refrigerate certain bulbs.
Watch for twig girdlers.

Outstanding flowering plants: Angel's trumpet, bougainvillea, cape honeysuckle, chrysanthemum, coral vine, goldenrain tree, hibiscus, pine cone lily, roses, silk floss tree, sasanqua camellia, thryallis
Annuals: Alyssum, calendula, dianthus, foxglove, geranium, marigold, pansy, petunia, snapdragon
Perennials: Blue salvia, chrysanthemum, day lily, false dragon head, gazania, gerbera, liatrus, Shasta daisy, verbena, yarrow
Fruits and vegetables: Beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, Chinese cabbage, collards, kohlrabi, lettuce, mustard, onions, peas, radish, spinach, strawberries, turnips
Herbs and spices (from plants): Anise, borage, chervil, chives, coriander, fennel, garlic, rosemary, sage, thyme
Bulbs: African lily, amaryllis, Aztec lily, calla, clivia, gladiolus, iris, lilies, snowflake, watsonia, zephyr lily
