Published: October 1, 2008

Deputies say a woman foiled a burglary about 2 p.m. today when she pulled into her driveway and saw three strangers walking out the front door of her Seminole home.

As the woman called 911, the three men left in a silver 2006 Chevrolet Impala, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said. A patrol deputy spotted the Impala near Park and Seminole boulevards and signaled the driver to stop, but the car kept going.

After a brief pursuit, the three men abandoned the Impala in a vacant lot near the 41st Avenue and 85th Street North, deputies said. Authorities established a perimeter. A sheriff's office helicopter and a St. Petersburg Police Department canine unit helped search for the men.

Officer Chris Ladd and his canine, Shaman, found the men in the laundry room of a house on 41st Avenue North in St. Petersburg, deputies said.

Arrested were Britton C. Arline, 21, of 8620 N. 14th St., Tampa; Demetrick E. Jenrette, 23, of 1416 Bougainvillea Ave. E., Tampa; and Maurice E. Boyer, 24, of 5410 Temple Elm Lane, Tampa. Each was charged with two counts of burglary and one count of possession of burglary tools.

Arline also was wanted in Hillsborough County on charges of grand theft and failure to appear in court in an unrelated burglary, deputies said.

Jenrette, too, was wanted in Hillsborough County on charges of burglary, armed burglary and grand theft.

Detectives say the men might have been involved in burglaries that have not been reported. They say a search of the Impala yielded what appeared to be stolen property: a computer, a flat-screen television and jewelry.

The investigation is ongoing.
