Police Probing Death Of Man Found At St. Pete Intersection

ST. PETERSBURG - A 41-year-old man was found dead at an intersection Thursday night, but there were no obvious signs of foul play, St. Petersburg police said.
Dexter Gabbard Jr., whose last known address is 301 Eighth Ave. N., was found facedown on the ground at Second Avenue South and Seventh Street at 9:23 p.m., St. Petersburg police spokesman George Kajtsa said.
Gabbard was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at 9:41 p.m. An autopsy by the Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner's Office is expected to determine the cause of death.
Gabbard had his wallet on him, along with cash, jewelry and a receipt from a local bar showing he spent more than $100, Kajtsa said.
