Cross Country: Land O' Lakes Takes 2nd

CRYSTAL RIVER - Land O' Lakes High's Felix Soto won the boys race while the Gator boys and girls both took second place at the Crystal River Invitational meet at Crystal River High.

Despite holding back the first two miles, Soto won the race with a time of 16 minutes, 28 seconds. Hernando High's Joe Wright was second with 16:44.

The Hernando High boys won with 53 points. Land O' Lakes was second with 67.
Ocala Vanguard won the girls title with 59 points. Land O' Lakes was second with 63 points. Spring Hill Springstead was third with 80 points.

Ocala Vanguard's Tori Lawson won the race with a time of 19:23. Ocala West Port's Gretchen MacMillan was second with 19:27. Land O' Lakes' Alyssa Brandt was third with 19:49.

Land O' Lakes was the only Pasco County team to participate in the meet.

The Gators will hold the 12th Annual Gator Invitational Cross Country Meet Oct. 10 at Crews Lake Park. There will be 27 teams taking part in the event.
