Hooters' Block Party Celebrates 25 Years

CLEARWATER - Hooters celebrated its 25th anniversary with a block party this evening.
Started in 1983 at the 2800 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd. location, Hooters is a worldwide restaurant chain with 440 locations in 42 states and 27 countries.
Today's celebration offered patrons opportunities to meet the original Hooters Girl, Lynne Austin, the 2009 Hooters Calendar Girls and PGA golfer John Daly.
"We want to say thank you to all of our customers over the years and our wonderful staff in our 400-plus restaurants," founder Ed Droste said. "America in these times needs an oasis and we're happy to be that oasis."
