A man who drove away from his Valrico home Saturday night after a drug deal turned violent was found Sunday morning in a Tampa motel, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Nathan Edward McReynolds, 36, of 507 Murcott Place, Valrico, was charged today with attempted first degree murder with a firearm.
Troy Absher, 36, of Tampa, went with his girlfriend about 5:45 p.m. Saturday to McReynolds' Valrico home to buy drugs, deputies said.
McReynolds was sitting in his driveway in a teal green GMC conversion van when Absher and his girlfriend pulled in next to the van, the sheriff's office said.
McReynolds and Absher exchanged words. The argument escalated and Absher was shot in the head, the sheriff's office said.
Absher was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he is listed in critical condition today. McReynolds was found at 4:45 a.m. today at the Seminole Motel on North Florida Avenue, deputies said.
McReynolds is being held without bail at Orient Road Jail.
