The Florida Highway Patrol identified two Tampa men killed Saturday night when they were struck by a car while crossing State Road 60 in Brandon.
Also, troopers are working to notify family members of a man killed Saturday night while crossing U.S. 19 in Pasco County.
The highway patrol said Glenn A. Smith and John B. Sapp died when they were struck about 8:54 p.m. Saturday on State Road 60. The patrol did not have an age for either man.
The men were walking across State Road 60 near the Hooters and McDonald's restaurants east of Falkenburg Road, the patrol said.
Esther Smith-Thomas, 76, heading east on State Road 60, hit her brakes but was unable to stop before hitting both men, the patrol said.
Sapp died at the scene, and Smith died at Tampa General Hospital, the patrol said.
Smith-Thomas and Teresa Thomas-Lemmond, 49, a passenger in the 2006 Mercury sedan, were not injured. Both live in Laurinburg, N.C., the accident report said.
The Pasco fatality happened about 9:56 p.m. at U.S. 19 north of Hudson Avenue.
Donald Willis, 28, of Odessa was driving south on U.S. 19 when he struck a man crossing the road, the highway patrol said.
Neither Willis nor a 22-year-old woman passenger was injured. Willis was driving a 1994 Chevrolet sport utility vehicle.
The man died at Bayfront Medical Center about 90 minutes after the accident, the patrol said.
