CITRUS PARK - Judging by the jerseys, Buccaneers fans outnumbered Rays fans at the Courtside Grille Sunday afternoon, but some people seemed conflicted about which game to watch.
Like a handful of others gathered around the big TV screens, Dave Peleshuck of Seminole sported Bucs colors and a Rays hat. "You've got to be rooting for the Rays first. That's how I see it," the 33-year-old finance manager said.
With the Rays making a postseason push for the first time, traditionally passionate football fans are facing a question never before dreamed: How to root for both teams at once. The Bucs took on the Denver Broncos about 4 p.m., and the Rays played the Chicago White Sox about a half-hour later.
Bill Whittington, 37, wore a Bucs T-shirt and a Rays hat. He went to the sports bar to watch both teams. "It's not like I have two TVs side-by-side at home," he said.
Jackie McDonald, 44, of Safety Harbor, said she was leaning toward the Rays.
"It's October," she explained.
