A 12-year-old Fort Meade girl missing since Monday afternoon has been located safe and uninjured, Polk County deputies say.
Deputies have no further details, a sheriff's office news release states.
Family friends left Tamara Thomas at her godmother's home, 2985 Morris Drive, Bartow, about 3 p.m. Monday, sheriff's office spokeswoman Donna Wood said.
Thomas had not been seen since, so deputies alerted the media today of her disappearance.
