The wife of a 79-year-old Alzheimer's patient stabbed him in the neck with two steak knives at the same time this morning while he was in bed, Manatee County deputies say.
Deborah Tanner, of 4718 61st Ave. Terrace W., Bradenton, told deputies she stabbed her husband, Harold, because he needed a rest, deputies say.
She called 911 to report the stabbing.
Harold Tanner was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where he is in stable condition, deputies say.
Deborah Tanner, 56, has been charged with aggravated battery.
