TAMPA - Honeywell Aerospace has forecast delivery of 17,000 new business aircraft from 2008 through 2018 -- sales of $300 billion -- with a 15 percent increase in business jet deliveries this year to 1,200 despite the uncertain economy.

Honeywell's 17th annual business aviation forecast foresees a continued record delivery pace of business aircraft into 2009 based on a strong backlog.

Survey respondents found North American companies plan to replace 25 percent of their business fleets or expand them within the next five years.

This week, a new high-tech variant of the King Air family of twin-engine turboprop business aircraft was unveiled at the 2008 National Business Aviation Association annual meeting and convention in Orlando.

In addition, Beechcraft King unveiled a $7.7 million midsize business jet called the Hawker 450XP.

Gulfstream Aerospace announced a G250 midsize business jet called the G250, and Cessna Aircraft announced that it is upgrading its CJ1-Plus, CJ2-Plus and CJ3 line of aircraft.
