TAMPA - If you haven't filed for your economic stimulus check, time is running out.
Oct. 15 is the deadline for residents who have not filed for the rebate. With a week to go, more than 18,000 eligible residents in Hillsborough County have yet to file the required paperwork to receive a rebate check, according to the IRS.
Residents can get assistance from the Prosperity Campaign of Hillsborough County. Walk-ins are accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the following locations:
• Lee Davis Neighborhood Service Center, 3402 N. 22nd St., Tampa; (813) 272-5220
• Plant City Neighborhood Service Center, 307 N. Michigan St., Plant City; (813) 757-3871
• Ruskin Neighborhood Service Center, 201 14th Ave. S.E., Ruskin; (813) 671-7647
• St. Joseph's Community Care/Hanley Road. 6726 Hanley Road, Tampa; (813) 886-6177
• University Community Resource Center. 13605 N. Second St., Tampa; (813) 975-2153
• West Tampa Neighborhood Service Center. 2103 N. Rome Ave., Tampa; (813) 272-5074
If you received more than $3,000 in income from a job, or eligible Social Security or veterans payments, you qualify for the rebates, which range from $300 per individual to $1,200 for married couples and additional $300 payments for eligible children.
To receive the stimulus rebate, eligible individuals must submit a simplified version of a 1040A tax form to the IRS, which is available online or at the locations listed.
