Physician Drew Pinsky, who led Tampa singer Jessica Sierra through her attempted rehabilitation on the television show "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew," will dispense advice on sex and drug abuse tonight at the University of South Florida.
Pinsky, who also hosts the syndicated call-in radio show "Loveline," will begin his talk at 7 p.m. in the oval theater at USF's new Marshall Student Center.
Admission to the lecture is $10, $5 for alumni and faculty, and free for students.
A board-certified addiction medicine specialist, Pinsky has long traveled the media circuit, offering health advice on programs that vary from "The Oprah Winfrey Show" to "Good Morning America."
His VH1 show, "Celebrity Rehab," is known locally for its treatment of Sierra, an "American Idol" finalist. After "Celebrity Rehab" was filmed, Sierra was arrested in late 2007 in Ybor City on charges of misdemeanor disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer without violence. Pinsky appeared in a Tampa courtroom on her behalf.
