TIPS FOR BUYING TICKETS ONLINE

Only buy from reputable Web sites. Good indicators are a valid street address, customer service number and either Paypal or some other insured payment system. If you're not sure whether a Web site is safe, don't buy from it or supply any personal information.

Comparison shop. Compare handling costs and prices of similar seats to get the best deal. A few well-known ticket-resale sites are StubHub.com, TicketsNow.com, RazorGator.com, ScoreTix.com, Tickco.com, TicketNetwork.com and TicketLiquidator.com.

Read the delivery policy. Double check to make sure you can receive your tickets before the game, either through next-day mail or by picking them up at will call.

Pay with a credit card. Under federal law, you have the right to dispute charges under certain circumstances and withhold payment while the charges are under investigation.

If the deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is. When buying tickets from local sellers, always arrange to meet in a well-lit public place, and don't pay for the tickets until you have inspected them.
