GAINESVILLE - WR Percy Harvin is expected to play Saturday against LSU, Florida coach Urban Meyer said Wednesday. The junior playmaker sat out of practice Sunday and Monday with pain in his ankle, but participated in Wednesday's session.
"He didn't go through a full practice but he ran around a little bit," Meyer said.
Harvin underwent heel surgery in April and missed all of spring and most of summer practice as he recuperated from the injury. Meyer said it was too early to say definitively that Harvin would play.
"I think so," Meyer said. "I'll know more Friday."
REMEMBERING LAST YEAR: UF played well enough to win last season's matchup with LSU. The Gators led nearly the entire game, with the Tigers taking their only lead, and the win, with a rushing TD by Jacob Hester with 1:09 remaining in the game.
"It was devastating," Meyer said. "That was a great college football game and there wasn't a lack of effort anywhere or a lack of character on that team and they came up short."
