TALLAHASSEE - Support for the "marriage protection" amendment on the Nov. 4 ballot is not broad enough for passage, according to Mason-Dixon Polling & Research's latest Florida poll released Wednesday. Here's a look at the results:
55: Percentage of voters who supported Amendment 2, which defines marriage as the legal union between one man and one woman only (down from 57 percent in August)
60: Percentage of votes needed for the amendment to pass
11: Percentage of voters who were undecided on Amendment 2 (up from 7 percent in August)
4: Percentage points in the margin of error (meaning the changes from August's poll to October's poll were too small to be meaningful)
625: Likely voters polled
115: Voters from the Tampa Bay area
Note: None of the five other questions appearing on November's ballot polled high enough for passage, either. The other proposals, all pertaining to taxation or land ownership, are more technical in nature; 23 percent to 47 percent of voters remained undecided on each.
