TAMPA - Yes, it was Wacky Tacky day at Jefferson High School, but the reason some male students were donning lipstick and eye shadow Thursday had nothing to do with spirit week.
It was part of the annual fashion show presented by the school's International Fashion and Retail Marketing Academy.
About 60 students coordinated the fundraiser, from picking outfits at Anchor Blue in Brandon and La France in Ybor City to generating the theme, "Experience the Dark Side," a mix of gothic, punk and vintage designs.
"I don't think many people have been exposed to this style," Scott Grimes, 16, said in his bright red lipstick and studded collar.
"It diversifies their ideas and creates more of an understanding of the people who dress like this," he said.
