Published: October 10, 2008

LARGO - Some families found places to stay on their own and others got help from charities and the city of Largo after a mobile home park was closed because it had no water or sewer service.

Catholic Charities moved some of the residents Thursday to temporary housing and was working with them to find a permanent home, according to a news release from the city.

They had been living at the Key Largo Communities mobile home park, which was declared unfit for human habitation after disconnection of the potable water supply by Pinellas County Utilities.

The park had not paid its water bill.

Sixteen adults and 18 children learned Tuesday they had to leave their rented homes at No Go Largo Village, 1760 Clearwater-Largo Road, by noon Thursday.

Direct Buy of Pinellas and Largo Self Storage have donated moving and storage services to help in the relocation.

Other donations have included one-day bus passes from The Salvation Army.
