School Board Names New Principals

Hillsborough County is getting two new principals.
On Monday, the school board approved the appointments of Gloria Waite as principal of Mabry Elementary and Lynn Roberts as principal at USF/Patel Partnership Elementary.
Waite had been assistant principal at Town & Country Elementary.
Roberts had been principal at Lomax Elementary.
Both appointments are effective Oct. 20.
The board also suspended bus driver Eleanor Stevenson for one day without pay for leaving a kindergarten student at a bus stop where there was no adult on the first day of school.
Also, an annual school board out-of-county travel budget of $35,000 to be divided among the seven members is being proposed and will be voted on at the Oct. 21 meeting.
