TAMPA - Bucs coach Jon Gruden finally got a glimpse of his white tiger when WR Joey Galloway returned to practice Thursday in a limited capacity.
Galloway, who missed the past three games with a foot injury, was optimistic about being ready for Sunday's home game against Carolina.
"This is tough to sit back and watch, but finally I am running," Galloway said. "At least I feel like I'm preparing myself to come back. That's exciting. ... We're on the right road, and we'll see what happens."
Gruden wants to see more to deem Galloway ready for action.
"He will have to practice," Gruden said. "He's going to have to test it out a little bit. You can't just go through drills. You've got to go through an entire practice. You've got to be able to go out there and prove to yourself and everyone you have the ability to play a 60-minute game."
Carolina WR Steve Smith has enjoyed some of his best games against Tampa Bay's secondary.
