THE DIFFERENCE: Junior quarterback C.J. Bennett led the charge for the potent Alonso offense, throwing for 350 yards and 4 TDs. He hit his favorite target, junior running back Jesse Avaya, seven times for 160 yards.
GAME NOTES: King moved progressively backwards on the first drive of the game, facing a third-and-30. Alonso capitalized on its good field position after a punt to score the opening touchdown on a 25-yard pass from Bennett to Avaya. ... King's only play of 10 yards or longer in the first half was senior running back Donovan Celerin's 53-yard touchdown run. ... Bennett broke three tackles on a 40-yard run, but fumbled at the 5-yard line. A personal foul after the play gave King the ball at the 20. ... Bennett finished the game 11 of 13 through the air for 241 yards and 3 touchdowns. ... King mounted a late rally, scoring 10 points in the closing minutes.
STAT OF THE GAME: King's offense couldn't keep up with Alonso. The Ravens outgained the Lions 445-167.
