THE DIFFERENCE: Bishop Verot (4-1) led the battle of field position and was able to grind it out for both halves without using big plays. Lennard (3-3) threatened early in the first quarter, but Hugo Delpapenha came up with a big interception to stop a rally and the Vikings capped it off with a 1-yard scoring run by Schon Thomas.
GAME NOTES: Lennard quarterback Andrew Burdick was 10-of-18 on the night for 164 yards, but he also threw two first quarter interceptions, one of which led to a Bishop Verot touchdown. ... The Longhorns only committed six penalties on the night but were unable to establish solid field position, averaging only 23 yards per punt. ... Bishop Verot changed running backs at half time and threw a whole new look at the Longhorns. Tim Timpanelli had no carries in the first half, but had every rushing yard for the Vikings in the second half...Bishop Verot quarterback Jacob Kistel was 12 of 18 for 223 yards.
STAT OF THE GAME: Bishop Verot running back Schon Thomas ran for 43 yards in the first half as the main ball carrier, but Matt Timpanelli came off the bench to lead the Vikings with 81 yards in the second.
