THE DIFFERENCE: Trailing 7-0 at the half, the Rams (3-2) were sparked by a 69-yard kick return by Austin Jackson to begin the second half. Sterling Ross followed with a 10-yard TD run, and QB Scott Kujack followed with a 7-yard TD pass on third down to Micheal Graham to give Ridgewood the lead for good.
GAME NOTES: The Royal Knights (0-5) played a flawless first half that started with an eight-play, 61-yard touchdown drive capped by a 16-yard pass from Kenny Toce to Shane Allen. Their defense was just as good, as Ridgewood only ran 13 plays in the first half and had three first downs. ... Ross finished with 25 carries, 167 yards and a touchdown. ... Trailing by six in the third, River Ridge tried a reverse pass from WR Mario Stewart, and the intended receiver was open for a possible touchdown but the ball went through his arms. ... Jackson had two sacks to go with his kick return. ... Bob Peck and Tim Rearden had interceptions for the Rams, and Stewart intercepted Kujack.
STAT OF THE GAME: Kujack, filling in for regular starter Jimmy Mattos (hand injury), was 0-for-3 passing in the first half, and 5-for-6 for 61 yards and a touchdown in the second half.
