Dr. Fresh Baby Firefly Step 1 Toothbrush, $1.99 at Babies R Us or at www.just4teeth.com class="bold">.

The Pitch: "Parents can use the baby Firefly's flashing light to delight and distract baby while they gradually introduce them to the unfamiliar practice of brushing."

The Skinny: Firefly had 7-month-old Annabelle - and me - at the first flash of pink light. Annabelle immediately grabbed the tiny pink Baby Firefly toothbrush and stuck it in her mouth. Could it really be this easy? She only has two teeth, but she kept at it even after the flashing light stopped. The only downside I could find was that the brush didn't fit into my toothbrush holder or stand on its own, but that was easily forgotten after my 2-1/2-year-old son was motivated to use his Elmo toothbrush for the same amount of time.

All-Natural Nui Kid Water, $1.29 to $1.69 at Whole Foods and Tampa's Nutrition S'mart.

The Pitch: "Supersized health in a powerful little bottle. Half the sugar of apple juice, with Fiber, electrolytes and vitamins A, B, C, D, and antioxidants from caffeine-free green tea and nine powerful fruits.

The Skinny: If your kids are used to watered-down fruit juice and in need of a significant nutritional boost, they're likely to enjoy Nui Kid Water. Raging Red -the fruit punch -tasted most like its sugary Kool-Aid sibling. Purple Power may have used the same grape flavoring used in liquid pain relievers for kids. Outrageous orange was tolerable, though it needed a major shaking up. And whatever you do, make sure this kid water is chilled first.
