Five Things That Make Me Smile

SHOES: Oh, my God, I don't know how many I have. I think I have at least 100 pairs. Let's just leave it at that. No matter how skinny or how fat you are, shoes always fit.

MY GIRLS: Eight-year-old Minnie, a Maltese-Shih Tzu mix, and 7-year-old Katie, a lab terrier mix who looks like a giant Benji. Both are rescues from Humane Society of Tampa Bay. I don't have any brothers or sisters, so dogs have always been my constant companion since I was little. No matter what kind of day I've had, they always make me laugh. I've got two "Dumpster" kitties at home, too.

1960s ACOUSTIC GUITAR: It's an old guitar from Sears my friend played back in the '70s. I always loved the sound of it. My friend decided to sell it, and I got it for $50! I bought a beat-up old case for it, and it sat gathering dust in my garage for seven years. Now, I use it for practice. It still has a beautiful sound.

LITTLE RED HONDA FIT: I love it because you can cram so much stuff into it. I've put a bike in it, band equipment, a recliner chair. I used to drive a Toyota Highlander - booooring. It was like driving a couch. This thing is a hoot. It's got a five-speed stick shift, so it's fun to drive and economical.

THE BAND: We're called "Sharon and the Boys," only now it's me, four guys and another girl who joined us. We've been playing mainly private gigs for about three years - dance stuff, Fleetwood Mac, Pretenders, Stevie Nicks. I got interested in music in high school and got away from it for about 20 years. Now, I'm back in and lovin' it. My newest addition is this cute little blonde wig I wear on stage. It solves the sweaty hair problem from jumping up and down.
