St. Petersburg Man, 67, Dies After Car Falls On Him

A 67-year-old man died Sunday afternoon after the jack holding up the sedan he was working on slid out of position and the car fell on top of him, St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue officials said.
George Garrett, of 1243 Jungle Ave., St. Petersburg, died at the scene, authorities said. When paramedics arrived, they found Garrett in the driveway, partially trapped beneath the late-model Infiniti sedan, fire and rescue Lt. Joel Granata said in a statement.
Fire crews managed to free Garrett after several minutes, but he was unresponsive, Granata said.
