LARGO - The cause of a fire in one of the buildings at Brittany Bay apartments this morning likely won't be discovered because there was too much damage, fire officials say.
The 2:30 a.m. blaze at the complex at 1201 Seminole Blvd. caused an estimated $500,000 in damage, Assistant Fire Marshal Tim Wedin of Largo Fire Rescue said.
The fire began in an apartment on the second floor of the 16-unit building and spread to two other units, Wedin said. No one was injured, but the occupants of all 16 units had to find other accommodations because the building is uninhabitable, he said.
While fired damaged three apartments all told, there was smoke damaged throughout the building, he said.
