Lake Wales Man Is Thrown From Pickup Truck, Killed

A 21-year-old Lake Wales man died Sunday morning after losing control of his pickup in Polk County.
Lorenzo Zarate was driving east on State Road 60 about 1:30 a.m. when he lost control of his 1992 Chevrolet truck just east of Dude Ranch Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
After veering off the road, Zarate overcorrected when he returned to the pavement, sending his truck into a spin that nearly flipped it, according to the highway patrol.
Zarate was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He died at the scene, an accident report states.
