Arrest Made In August Carjacking

HOLIDAY - Nelson Capestany had just bought a Slurpee at 7-Eleven and was waiting for the light to change at Moog Road and U.S. 19 when a man pointed a black and silver pistol at him and jumped into his car on the last day of August.
Now, that man – Javon Corzell Jones - is sitting in the Land O' Lakes Jail awaiting trial on charges of armed carjacking, armed robbery and false imprisonment. He was arrested in connection to the summer carjacking Monday at the jail where he's been since Sept. 11 on other charges.
Sitting in the front passenger seat, Jones, 27, ordered Capestany to drive to a mobile home park off of Alternate U.S. 19 just after 4:30 a.m., according to a sheriff's office report, and made him go inside the home.
Outside, the gunman passed a man sitting on the porch, and another man sleeping inside and went toward a woman who ordered Capestany to go to the back of the home, according to a sheriff's office report. Jones, according to deputies, ordered Capestany, then 33, to give him all his money and his gold necklace then handed the gun to the woman. He handed over about $18, the change after buying the Slurpee.
"You got more than that; you better give me more," the woman told him, according to the sheriff's office report. .
The woman handed the gun back to the carjacker and she said she would check the Hyundai Sonata for cash.
About 30 minutes later, according to the report, the woman returned.
"Take us to your house to get more money," she told him. I know you got more money at your house; I saw receipts inside your car."
Capestany told them he didn't have any money so they asked him to take them to his bank, according to report. He told them his girlfriend had his ATM card
"What about your TV?" the woman asked.
Jones then ordered him back into the car but then when he got into the driver's side, Capestany ran toward Alternate 19, flagging down a motorist who picked him up and took him to a nearby gas station so he could call the sheriff's office.
Deputies pick up Capestany and took him to the trailer park so he could point out the home, which was at 4336 Resort Loop, but the car and two suspects weren't there.
Later, Tarpon Springs Police found the Sonata on East Boyer Street but the occupants ran away.
Angela Charlton, 41, of 4336 Resort Loop, was arrested Sept. 11 on charges of armed robbery and false imprisonment. She's being held at the jail with bail set at $160,000.
Jones' bail for new charges is set at $150,000. Fingerprints recovered from the car matched his and Capestany picked his picture out from a photo pack of suspects.
Capestany, of Holiday, wasn't injured during the ordeal.
