Gibsonton Man Arrested On Child Porn Charges

A man arrested in June on felony computer pornography charges was charged Monday with 100 counts of possession of child pornography, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Carl Minerd Cocking, 35, is being held on $250,000 bail today at Orient Road Jail.
Investigators completed an analysis of Cocking's computer seized in June and found 100 images of child pornography, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
A warrant was issued on Monday and Cocking was arrested at his home, 6329 Magnolia Trails Lane, Gibsonton, a criminal arrest affidavit states.
In June, Cocking was accused of traveling to Brandon to engage in sex with someone he thought was a 12-year-old girl, authorities said. He was released from Orient Road Jail on June 11 after posting $2,000 bail.
Cocking used Internet chat rooms and e-mails from May 30 to June 10 to solicit "a parent of a child to consent to participation of such a child in any sexual act," a criminal report affidavit states.
Cocking traveled from his Gibsonton home to Brandon on June 10 to "meet who he believes is a 12-year-old female to engage in sexual conduct," the affidavit states.
