HOLIDAY - The last of a group of teens involved in a 12-hour crime spree last week is behind bars, deputies said.
Justin Scott Capell, 18, of Holiday, told investigators he was the man who led Pasco County deputies on a foot chase early Oct. 8 after jumping from a stolen car, according to arrest reports. Capell evaded police helicopters and canine units by jumping a fence, running through woods and jumping into lakes.
Eventually, he made it to a Wal-Mart store, where he called his mother to pick him up.
Officers arrested the teen driving the car, Dylan Michael Moore, 16, and two juveniles at the scene. A 14-year-old boy was caught later in the week.
Deputies arrested Capell Saturday. He faces charges of aggravated assault, strong arm robbery, grand theft of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest. Investigators said he told them he participated in the beating and robbery of a 43-year-old bicyclist on Zodiac Road.
The teens said they wanted gas money so they could drive the stolen car to Clearwater, according to reports.
Capell said he kicked the victim repeatedly while he was on the ground, trying to defend himself, the reports said.
He remains at Land O' Lakes Jail, with bail set at $15,100.
