TAMPA - After returning home from the hospital this morning, Renaldo Duncan was approached by his ex-girlfriend and two other people he knows, including one who placed a gun against the back of his neck, Tampa police say.
The trio took Duncan's chain, diamond watch and diamond ring about 1 a.m. today, a criminal arrest affidavit states.
Police arrested Julia Evans, 23, of Tampa; Johnny L. Jenkins, 43, of Tampa; and Karlos Brown, 23, of Tampa.
Duncan, of 6727 S. Lois Ave., broke up with Evans about a week ago and also contacted the Department of Children and Families about her, police say.
Evans, Jenkins and Brown were charged with armed robbery. Brown also was charged with violating probation on drug charges.
This morning, Jenkins pressed the gun against Duncan's neck, Evans took Duncan's jewelry and Brown held him back by the throat and jaw, police say. The three suspects were arrested at 2:10 a.m. today at 3114 W. Azeele St.
Evans, Jenkins and Brown remained in Orient Road Jail today. No bail had been set.
Duncan went to a hospital Tuesday because Brown, who is Evans' new boyfriend, approached him 6 p.m. Tuesday and punched him in the face and bloodied his mouth, police say. That misdemeanor battery case will be referred to the state attorney's office, Tampa police spokeswoman Laura McElroy said.
