Freemon Grayes III was taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries about 5 p.m. Graves died during surgery Thursday night, highway patrol spokesman Sgt. Steve Gaskins said.

A passenger, Demond Joseph Blaxton, 15, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, according to a highway patrol report.
