TAMPA - Dogs had their day Wednesday at Raymond James Stadium in preparation for the Feb. 1 Super Bowl.
Canine officers from the Tampa Police Department and Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office invited dog teams from U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to train for the big game.
At the Super Bowl, about 30 to 40 dogs will search incoming vehicles and sweep through the stadium, officials said. The exercises involved sniffing out explosive items trainers placed in spots in and around the stadium.
