VALRICO - Bloomingdale shut out Leto for the first three quarters Thursday night and then hung on to defeat the Falcons, 20-13, at Charley Harris Stadium.
TD runs by Zachary Little (2 yards) and Anthony Amos (3 yards) sandwiched a 9-yard TD pass by Anthony Beko to Eugene Perry, which gave the Bulls a 20-0 advantage.
Leto cut the deficit to 20-7 on a kickoff return by Antwoun Howard, and finished off the scoring with a 6-yard TD pass from Jeremy Deering to Adolfo Navarro.
The victory improves Bloomingdale to 4-2 and moves the Bulls to within two victories of their first winning season in school history.
Bloomingdale's remaining games are against East Bay (3-3) at home next Friday, at Brandon (1-6), at Newsome (5-2) and at Durant (4-3). Bloomingdale is also tied atop the Class 5A-District 7 standings with Newsome, one game ahead of East Bay and Plant City.
The loss drops Leto to 2-5. The Falcons play host to Plant in a 4A-10 game next Friday, then finish the season at King and at Blake.
