ST. PETERSBURG - Any former felons trying to stay on the straight and narrow have some help today.
More than 40 social service and governmental agencies will be on hand at the Pinellas Technical Education Center to help former felons in their efforts to start new lives.
Among them are WorkNet, the Pinellas County Mobile Health Van, and a group whose mission is to help felons get their civil rights restored.
The agencies will be available at PTEC from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. The school is at 901 34th St. S.
It is the 12th time there has been a showcase of services for ex-offenders. The effort is presented by the Pinellas Ex-Offender Re-Entry Coalition, which is made up of representatives from state and local law enforcement, Pinellas County nonprofit organizations, and local faith-based initiatives.
Their mission is to help men and women who have recently been released from jail or prison integrate back into society.
There is no charge for today's fair and registration is not required.
Last year, more than 350 ex-offenders visited the showcase of services.
