TAMPA - The veterans hospital in Tampa is getting a new building for its unit that treats the nation's most seriously wounded warriors.
The new Polytrauma Transitional Rehabilitation Building and Outpatient Clinics at James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital is opening with a ceremony today.
The polytrauma unit at Haley is one of four in the United States that treats catastrophically injured and disabled service personnel.
The new 33,000-square-foot building provides space for rehabilitation therapy programs, outpatient clinics, primary care and administrative functions.
The first floor includes five transitional housing apartments.
