Boca Ciega (1-4) at Countryside (3-3)
In a battle of defense vs. offense, the host Cougars should have the advantage. Boca Ciega, as usual, has a strong defense. Their problem is they have little offense. Only once has Boca Ciega given up more than 17 points. And only once have the Pirates scored more than two touchdowns in a game this season.
Countryside, as usual, has a lot of weapons to use, including running back Dawrence Roberts who has 696 yards while averaging just over 6 yards a carry.
Dunedin (4-2) at Tarpon Springs (4-1)
The visiting Falcons are choosing a bad time to travel to Tarpon Springs, a week after the Spongers lost their first game of the year by two to Land O' Lakes.
As Bellamy goes, so goes the Falcons. The Spongers have faced strong running attacks already and came out on top. Bellamy shouldn't intimidate the Spongers too much.
Palm Harbor (3-2) at Osceola (0-6)
Halfway through the season and the Hurricanes still have a shot at the program's first winning season. Two more wins will guarantee Palm Harbor at least a .500 season.
Osceola is struggling, specifically in trying to stop the run. If the Hurricanes can establish a running game, as Friday night comes to a close they should be two wins away from clinching their first winning season.
Pinellas Park (0-5) at Clearwater (1-5)
To be polite, both teams are struggling. If nothing else, Pinellas Park is consistent, scoring six points in each of its losses. Clearwater, not so much being shut out twice and just once scoring double-digits.
Both defenses have been getting torched this season. Can the visiting Patriots finally rack up a win?
St. Petersburg Catholic (3-3) at Clearwater Central Catholic (0-6)
This isn't the same matchup it used to be when two of the top private school football programs in the state with rosters peppered with future NFL and Division-I players, but it's still a heated rivalry.
Both teams are having a tough time stopping opponents but Clearwater Central Catholic has too many offensive weapons for the visiting Barons to contend with, specifically speedy tailback Micah Poole.
Lauderhill Upperroom Christian (2-3) at Indian Rocks Christian (6-0)
Indian Rocks Christian should chalk up its seventh win in a row with its punishing rushing attack. Lou Mason is averaging over 10 yards a carry.
Lakeland Christian (3-2) at Shorecrest Prep (3-3)
Key district game between both teams who are tied at 1-2. The loser likely is out of the playoffs as both Indian Rocks Christian and Fort Meade are both tied atop the division with unblemished records. Shorecrest quarterback Hunter Trumaine and running back Jack Schroeder are both tearing up defenses averaging double-digit yards a carry.
Keswick Christian (3-3) at Jacksonville Potter's House Christian
After losing its first three games of the season scoring a total of six points, Keswick Christian seems to have found an offense averaging over 30 points a game since. Running back Andrew Logue is averaging nearly 7 yards a carry.
Admiral Farragut (1-4) at Fort Myers Evangelical Christian (3-2)
This will be a tough one for Admiral Farragut which is struggling on defense. Fort Myers Evangelical, which just once this season has scored less than 31 points in a game.
