THE DIFFERENCE: Blake gained its first victory of the season. The Yellow Jackets defense was steadfast throughout the night, led by the relentless pursuit of lineman Jeremy Green, who had four sacks.

Yellow Jackets running back Robert Wilson had 13 carries for 134 yards and one touchdown. ... Blake quarterback Eugene Davenport had a good game, completing 5-for-10 passes for 101 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown pass to Michael McFarland with 10:51 left in the fourth quarter. ... Davenport also completed a pass for a 2-point conversion after the Yellow Jackets' first score. The pass was caught by Montrey Pride, who also plays defensive end for the Yellow Jackets. ... Brandon started the night off with Alan Knipple as QB, but after a lateral was scooped up by Blake and almost run in for a touchdown (called back because of personal-foul penalty), Dillion Lassiter took over and finished 3-for-11 for 34 yards. Eagles running back Darius Lee had eight carries for 72 yards.
STAT OF THE GAME: Brandon killed drives with multiple penalties, accumulating six infractions for 60 yards.
QUOTE OF THE GAME: "They play hard football and they have through some rough, tough times. But they keep coming back, they keep trying to get better and better - and this is the result." - Blake coach Sean Washington referring to his team winning its first game
