THE DIFFERENCE: After allowing a touchdown on the Knights' first drive of the game, the Lions' defense took over and led King (2-4) to a victory against Robinson (1-6) in front of the homecoming crowd at King.
GAME NOTES: Ruben Gonzalez's 5-yard run got the Knights on the scoreboard on their first possession that covered 85 yards on 16 plays. ... The Lions recovered a Robinson fumble at the Knights' 47-yard line, setting up a 20-yard Reese Sturgis touchdown pass to Quardea Evearett that tied the score at 7-7 at halftime. ... In the third quarter senior Donovan Celerin ran 50 yards to the Knights' 1-yard line. Keith Graham, who relieved Sturgis when he left with an injury, dove in for the Lions' second score that proved to be the game-winner. ... Robinson's quarterbacks Ruben Gonzalez and A.J. Phillips combined for nine completions on 22 attempts for 151 yards. ... Celerin led King rushers with 74 yards on 14 carries.
STAT OF THE GAME: King's swarming defense caused two fumbles and had nine sacks. ... Twenty running plays went for minus yards as King surrendered only 19 yards on the ground.
