TAMPA - Dogs and cats, and their potential human owners, joined together to find the right matches Friday at a downtown Tampa park.
The animal adoption event, called Pets In The Park, was held over lunchtime in Lykes Gaslight Square. It was sponsored by Hillsborough County Animal Services and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.
To adopt, potential owners were asked to pay an adoption fee that included sterilization and rabies vaccination, and getting a county pet license and a microchip to help locate a missing pet.
Animal Services will hold a pet adoption expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Florida State Fairgrounds. The expo features hundreds of pets, more than 30 pet rescue groups and training advice from experts. Admission will be free.
