NORTHSIDE CHR. ... 52 FAITH BAPTIST ... 22
THE DIFFERENCE: Even though Northside Christian came into the game 0-4, being in a tough district made the team confident with its defense, which recorded two interceptions in the second half and put pressure on Faith Baptist quarterback Aaron Despaw.
GAME NOTES: Northside Christian running back Christopher Culbreth ran for a 15-yard touchdown in the first 12 seconds of the game, and added two more for the night, all in the first half. ... Senior quarterback Despaw scrambled in for a 1-yard touchdown, and played on defense by retuning an interception from Northside Christian quarterback Robbie Williams for a 52-yard touchdown. ... Trevor Stuart had a 20-yard touchdown run for the Eagles. ... Seth Rogers and backup quarterback Jimmy VanDeilein added rushing touchdowns for the Mustangs.
STAT OF THE GAME: The Eagles - in their first year of 11-man tackle football - scored 22 points without attempting a point-after kick.
QUOTE OF THE GAME: "They got a handful of players that could've played on contender-type teams. Aaron Despaw is a great quarterback and I take my hats off to them. We are getting ready for our rival Indian Rocks and they have their backs against the wall because we have nothing to lose." - Northside Christian coach Andre Dobson
