A 20-year-old man died Saturday night in St. Petersburg when he ran a red light, struck a cab and was then thrown from his motorcycle, police said.
Mark E. Simpson of Pinellas Park was heading south on 4th Street N. about 10:30 p.m. Saturday and drove through a red light at 22nd Avenue N, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.
He was hit by a United Cab driven by Michael Morrow, 50, of St. Petersburg heading west on 22nd Avenue, police said.
Morrow, driving a Crown Victoria, was not injured. Simpson died at Bayfront Hospital, the accident report said.
Police are continuing the investigation.
