ST. PETERSBURG - Darryl Rouson is standing for election four times this year to win the same office, the state House seat from District 55.
Rouson, a Democrat and former Pinellas prosecutor, faces write-in candidate Calvester Benjamin-Anderson.
Rouson first sought the seat in the spring during a special election to replace Frank Peterman, who left to head the state Department of Juvenile Justice.
He has identified property insurance rates as a top issue, along with lower property taxes, "to make home ownership a reality."
A community leader, Rouson led efforts to eliminate sales of drug paraphernalia.
District 55 includes parts of south St. Petersburg, Hillsborough, Manatee and Sarasota counties.
