ST. PETERSBURG - The Renaissance Vinoy Resort and Golf Club has received the AAA Four Diamond Award, the highest designation among any of the hotels in the Tampa Bay area and one that is awarded to 3 percent of the 60,000 AAA approved and diamond-rated properties.

The Vinoy, on downtown St. Petersburg's waterfront, recently completed a $3.5 million renovation, including a makeover of its two Presidential Suites, and the Plaza Ballroom and meeting rooms. The Vinoy's Lobby Promenade Lounge was reconfigured with a new bar and expanded seating.

In addition, the resort recently completed a $5 million renovation of the VInoy Marina with 74 slips that can accommodate boats up to 120 feet long.
