Pinellas County deputies say William Scott McCoy hasn't had a valid driver's license in years but won't stop getting behind the wheel.
Because of that, McCoy, age 50, is back in jail.
In court today a prosecutor told Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Philip J. Federico that McCoy has six convictions in Florida for driving without a license, three convictions for driving under the influence and two reckless driving convictions.
Federico sentenced McCoy to six months in the Pinellas County Jail, with 26 days credited for time served, after he pleaded no contest to his latest charge of driving while his license was revoked.
McCoy could have landed in state prison for up to five years but decided to avoid the risky outcome of a trial and took a plea deal from prosecutors.
He still faces an unresolved misdemeanor charge after his arrest in September on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident while riding a bicycle.
