Brooke Burke briefly joined this season's ranks of dancing wounded, but it didn't keep her from jitterbugging and nabbing the top score on "Dancing With the Stars" for the seventh straight week.
The actress-model injured her right foot during practice Sunday and made a precautionary hospital trip, according to ABC. X-rays showed she suffered a contusion. The next day, Burke and dance partner Derek Hough performed "Don't Be Cruel" and netted a 29 out of 30 possible points from the show's judges. It was the highest score this season.
Actor Cody Linley and Hough's sister, Julianne, also did the jitterbug and came in a point behind. Track star Maurice Greene and partner Cheryl Burke were third with 27.
Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Warren Sapp again wowed judges, doing the hustle to "Funky Town." He and partner Kym Johnston earned 25 points. "That's a guy that really knows how to funk," remarked judge Bruno Tonioli.
Actress Susan Lucci and singer Tony Braxton were tied with 22 points, following by singer Lance Bass and actress Cloris Leachman, both with 21.
Burke's brief scare came after two other contestants suffered injuries this season. Volleyball player Misty May-Treanor recently ruptured her Achilles' tendon and withdrew, and comedian Jeffrey Ross suffered a corneal abrasion before the season debut.
Judges' scores will be added to viewers' votes to determine which celebrity will be eliminated from the competition tonight.
