A Lakeland woman drove under the influence in Valrico on Tuesday evening with her 5-year-old in the car, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Sheryl Koenig drove across four lanes of traffic, drove onto a curb, nearly struck a pedestrian and rear-ended a Buick stopped at a red light at Valrico Road and Brandon Boulevard, a criminal arrest affidavit states.
Koenig had slurred speech and glassy eyes and was slow to respond, deputies say.
Deputies arrested her 8:33 p.m. Tuesday.
Koenig, 28, was charged with child abuse and driving under the influence.
Separate blood-alcohol tests registered 0.133 and 0.131, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office jail Web site. Florida law presumes a driver impaired at 0.08.
Koenig remained in Orient Road Jail today. Her bail was set at $2,500.
She is a substitute teacher in Pinellas County schools, according to the school district.
