TAMPA - Authorities say a supervisor for Tampa's initiative to keep its downtown area clean has been charged with felony littering.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports that 37-year-old Harvey Bivins, who works for the Tampa Downtown Partnership's Clean Team, has been dumping lawn debris and miscellaneous household items on various streets in a Gibsonton subdivision since September. Besides supervising Tampa's Clean Team, Bivins owns a lawn care business.
Authorities say Bivins was charged with three counts of felony littering on Monday. He was later released on $6,000 bail.
Lynda Remund, a director of the Clean Team's district operations, says Bivins' arrest was not related to any team activities.
