HUDSON - Pasco County Emergency Services formally unveiled its latest brick-and-mortar addition Tuesday morning, the new Heritage Pines Station No. 39.
Local dignitaries participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the $1.35 million station that took 10 months to build. An open house followed the dedication ceremony.
The 5,100-square-foot facility at 11630 County Line Road will house a minimum of three personnel assigned around the clock to serve the surrounding area just south of the Hernando County line. An advance life support firetruck with a paramedic on board, a brush truck and a 1,500-gallon tanker will be based at the station that has two drive-through bays. The living quarters sleeps seven employees.
"The station will greatly enhance the service to the area for both medical and fire suppression emergencies as it serves the citizenry of Pasco County for many years to come," Emergency Services Director Anthony Lopinto said in a news release.
